A preliminary lecture schedule:
...can be found here . Small changes as of Friday 2/19.
The abstracts we received are in alphabetic order here.
We have to institute a $20 conference fee in order to pay for the refreshments. Our grant money cannot be used for this purpose.
Transportation:
You can use either Orlando, Jacksonville or Gainesville airport. Jacksonville is fast, cheap, and about 90min
drive from Gaineville. On the way to Gainesville, do observe posted speed limits.
Orlando has many connections, 2hr drive to Gainesville, ocassional traffic, and highway tolls of about $15 total round trip.
We can only reimburse
car rental made with AVIS, tel. 1-800-831-2847. AVIS offers one way rentals. Use their "Florida State Rate" and Gainesville Paramount Resort station.
The one-way subcompact rental will come to about $30. Please contact our secretary Margaret
if you want to rent a car; she will issue a document for you to present at the AVIS counter. Please give me your flight numbers
and arrival/departure time so that we can investigate car-pooling options. Of course, the Gainesville airport is always an option.
A good map of Gainesville can be found
here.
A good map of University of Florida campus can be found here . To get to Little
Hall by car, enter the campus at 13th St. entrance (at the intersection of SW 13 St. and 2nd Ave.) turn left and leave
your car at the gated parking lot in front of Little Hall. The gate is open during the weekends. Campus parking during the
weekend is free and requires no permit.
Lodging Addresses:
We have blocked rooms at the first three locations. Our secretary Margaret Somers prefers you to email her at msomers@ufl.edu with your choice of hotel
and dates and perhaps a roommate and she can make the reservations herself. In the past when people reserved on their own we ended up paying taxes
even when we did not have to.

The most charming place in the area, about double the price of the previous motels, but this one is certainly not a chain.
