Unit 1:
Linear evolution equations, Chapter 7, (section 7.1);
Unit 2:
Calculus of variation, Chapter 8, (sections 8.1-8.4);
Unit 3:
Nonvariational techniques, Chapter 9, (sections 9.1, 9.2, and 9.6).
Test:
There will be three 100-point tests tentatively scheduled for
Jan. 31 (F), Feb. 28 (F), and April 4 (F).
Final:
There will be an 100-point final exam. tentatively scheduled for
April 23.
Homework:
Homework will be assigned regularly.
Grading:
The total points are 400.
A=90-100,
B+=86-89,
B=80-85,
C+=76-79,
C=70-75,
D+=66-69,
D=60-65,
E=0-59,
Important:
You must have written medical documentation for makeup
tests.
