    Re: Chair Selection

I am pleased to announce that Jed Keesling has agreed to serve as Chair of the Mathematics Department, effective July 1, 2008. All of the Associate Deans and I look forward to working with Jed to assure a smooth transition.

I would like to thank the Chair Search Committee for its work in guiding the process to a successful conclusion, and I would like to thank the faculty members who stood for the position. The fact that there was a robust field of candidates is a positive statement about the engagement and interest of the faculty in the department's future.
