Directions from Gainesville Airport to the Holiday Inn
It is probably simplest to take a taxi, but if you have rented a car, you
can get to the Holiday Inn as follows. Take a right out of the airport
exit, then a left at the first traffic light (Waldo Rd; about 1/4
mile). Follow Waldo Rd. to University Avenue; after you have turned there
are traffic lights at 23rd, 16th, and 8th Avenues, and University is the
next light. Turn right onto East University Avenue. Take this about two
miles to W 13th St (the street numbers will decrease until Main St, and
then start increasing). The Holiday Inn will be on your right, on the
corner of 13th St and University Avenue.
Directions to the Mathematics Department
The Mathematics Department is located close to the intersection of W 13th
Street and West University Avenue. The Holiday Inn above is on the northeast
corner of this very intersection, and it is easiest to go by foot; this
takes about 5 minutes. From this intersection, proceed south on 13th to the
first light (SW 2nd Avenue). On your right is the main entrance to the
University. Go in this entrance, and make a left at the first
intersection. Go straight on this road until you reach Little Hall (about
100 feet on the right). The elevator is in the center of the building on
the parking lot side, near the sign for Little Hall. Take the elevator to
the 3rd floor, which put you directly in front of the mathematics
department, and registration for the conference.
Here is a map of
the relevant part of the campus, with Little Hall (labelled LIT)
highlighted in red.
