REVIEW SESSION:  SATURDAY 8 MAY, 10AM-NOON(ish)

Text: Walter Rudin, Principles of Mathematical Analysis (third edition)

This course continues the fundamentals of mathematical analysis begun in MAA 5228. After completing the Riemann integral from Chapter Six, we will work through most of Chapters Seven and Eight (on sequences of functions and on special functions respectively), closing with extensive coverage of Chapter Eleven (on the Lebesgue integral).

There will be two written tests for the course: a two-hour evening midterm (approximately half-way through semester) and a two-hour final (at the regularly-scheduled time: 10:00-12:00 on 27 April). In addition, there will be graded homework assignments during most weeks (two of which will be dropped). Final grades will be based on performance on the collected homeworks, midterm and final, all three components being equally weighted.

Makeup tests will be given for the usual documented reasons.
