Teaching

It is widely accepted that the best path to improved socioeconomic status and general self improvement is through education. It is the most important part of my job as a graduate student to help educate my students. Toward this goal I constantly look for new ways to present material and organize my curriculum. It is a perpetually evolving process.

Over the past few years I have taught and/or lead discussion classes for several courses, including:

  • Liberal Arts Math
  • College Algebra
  • Precalculus
  • Calculus 1
  • Calculus 2

Occationally I will create additional material for the course. For my Calculus 2 course in the Spring 2011 semester, I wrote two articles for extra reading. One article discusses how to derive the Taylor expansion for sine and cosine via the differential equation f'' = -f. I also made an article discussing generating functions.
