Below we list hotels with which we have reserved rooms, some additional Gainesville motels, and a local bed and breakfast.

Hotels with reserved blocks of rooms:

Blocks of rooms have been reserved at the following hotels. Please mention the "ASL" and the "Mathematics Department" to receive the special rates.

  • The University Hotel. $90 plus (without tax) per night single or double occupancy. The University Hotel provides shuttle service to and from the Gainesville airport free of charge to their guests. (The rates are going up in January 2007.) The University Hotel is conveniently located near the conference site. This hotel is temporarily know as the The University Hotel while it is undergoing restaurant renovation; it expects to return to its designation as a Holiday Inn in mid-March.

  • Rush Lake Motel A reasonable hotel at a good price, $42 + tax per night. Some regular Gainesville visitors prefer the Rush Lake to the Holiday Inn independent of price. It is about one mile from the conference site.

  • Hilton, Gainesville The Hilton Hotel is the area's premier full service hotel. It is located approximately 4 miles from the conference site.

Other Gaineville motels:

Gainesville has a number of motels on SW 13th Street and on Archer Road in addition to the ones listed above. Here is a sample.

  • The Gainesville Days Inn (University) is a moderate cost hotel on SW 13th Street.

  • The Paramount Plaza Hotel, located on the lake Bivens Arm, is around a mile and a half south of campus on highway 441 (SW 13th St) on the right hand side. Avis has a small rental car operation at this hotel.

  • Motel Six (around $50 per night) is located around 4 miles from the conference site at 4000 SW 40th Boulevard near Archer Road at exit #384 on I-75.


A bed and breakfast:

  • Sweetwater Branch Inn. The Sweetwater Branch Inn is located just east of downtown on University Avenue. It is about a mile and a half from the corner of University Avenue and 13th Street and the Mathematics Department.
