Seventh Edition .
Prerequisites:
Grade of C or better in Linear Algebra 1 (Mas 4105)
Grading System:
Exams: 3 in class exams (equal weight)
The first two of which will be announced a week in advance
and the third one will be on the last day of classes.
The resulting score determines the letter grade according
to the following table:

Brief Course Description
The course will cover primarily the fundamentals of Group Theory. This is
chapters 1 - 11 in the textbook. Depending on time we may omit certain
chapters.
HOMEWORK:
Homework will be assigned regularly but not collected.
However, doing all the homework is essential for success in this
class as the exams test your conceptual understanding of the homewowrk assignments. Many homework problems involve doing proofs. Students are encouraged to check their proofs with their instructor.
MAKEUPS:
Make-up exams will not be administered unless it is supported
by valid documentation.
ATTENDANCE:
Attendance is mandatory.
