Abstract:
A recent discovery, supported by extensive computational studies, discloses 
the surprising computational promise of solving a wide range of discrete
optimization problems by casting them in the framework of an unconstrained
quadratic binary program. We review these developments and present new results
for several important combinatorial problems, including clique partitioning
and related problems on graphs.
