Title: Computational Conformal Geometry Xianfeng David Gu CISE Univ. of Florida Email: gu@cise.ufl.edu Abstract: All orientable surfaces are Riemann surfaces, namely they admit conformal structures. Conformal structure is between topological structure and Riemannian metric structure. Many fundamental problems in medical imaging and computer vision can be solved from the point of view of conformal geometry. The theories and algorithms for computing conformal structures will be introduced. The applications for surface matching, geometric classification, pattern recognition, geometric compression and brain mapping will be addressed.
