Title:  A Simulation Approach for Functional Mapping of QTL Using
Minimum L2 Parametric Criterion

Abstract:

Functional Mapping has emerged as a powerful
statistical method for detecting quantitative trait loci
(QTL) that affect complex phenotypes. Maximum-likelihood approach
based on a logistic-mixture model, implemented with EM algorithm,
is extremely strong in providing the estimates of QTL positions
and QTL effects. However, outliers or noised data can adversely
affect the accurate fit. In this article, we investigate on the
use of L2 Distance as a robust and efficient estimate tool for QTL
mapping. This approach can fits the data to the largest
appropriate way. Four hundred times simulation is illustrated to
compare the estimates got by MLE and L2E respectively on "good"
data and noised data.
