Title: A Convergence Study Of Spectrally Matched Grids In The Presence Of
Non-Smooth Data And Anisotropy

Abstract: This talk summarizes my research so far. It starts with a short
introduction to the topic followed by a description of Pade-Chebyshev
grids -- including their construction, some examples, and our attempt to
find an equivalent FEM. It then describes their use to semi-infinite
spectral intervals. This is motivated by a sample problem which we
semi-discretize and analyze to compute the error convergence rate. We also
introduce a new set of grids which we call Remes grids which prove useful
in tackling problems involving semi-infinite spectral intervals. Some
numerical results are presented. Finally, we describe anisotropy and its
challenges and then present a numerical study of an anisotropic problem.
