Title: Strain Replacement with Perfect Vaccination
กก

Abstract: Strain replacement is the phenomenon where one variant of a
pathogen (called strain) dominates at the population level before
vaccination, and another variant of the pathogen dominates after a
vaccination campaign. The replacement effect is believed to be
a consequence of the differential effectiveness of vaccines (vaccine
is effective with respect to the first strain, and not effective
with respect to the second). We show that strain replacement can
occur even if the vaccine is perfect (provides 100% protection with
respect to both strains). We investigate which other
mechanisms can be responsible.

The pizza and drinks will be provided after the talk.
