Title: TOWARD AN EFFICIENT ACCUMULATIVE NON-RIGID IMAGE REGISTRATION SCHEME
Abstract:
This technique minimize an energy functional that combines both
similarity and regularity measures. The single technique could
be applied to register both intra-modality and inter-modality images,
and is able to successfully register images involving large
contrast of image intensities. A fast and accurate free-form
registration technique will be presented as an example.
This talk would provide adaptive approaches to enhance match up
images efficiently: free form deformation is obtained accumulatively
instead of simply iteratively to speed up convergence and to
enhance accuracy. The minimization problem is solved using
additive operator splitting(AOS), a fast semi-implicit finite
difference scheme. Algorithm is implemented in different resolution
levels to get out of local minima.
Wonderful results are got by applying the technique to synthetic
images, and results of real data will also be presented. Comparing
with some existing models, the quantitative and qualitative results show
that the proposed technique is better.
