Title: How Combinatorics is Saving the World Part I:
Combinatorial Applications in the Study of Shuffles and Alignments of RNA
Sequences and Prediction of RNA Secondary Structures
Abstract:
This is the first of a four-part series surveying the numerous
contributions combinatorialists have made in various fields. An
RNA sequence is a word over a four character alphabet, an object
begging combinatorial analysis. In this talk we will survey
several ongoing areas of research in this field and some
algorithms and webservers for use by natural scientists which were
built upon combinatorial foundations.
