The conference will include both introductory mini-courses and research lectures.} Themes to be included: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * Riemann surface and hyperbolic laminations and their relation to conformal dynamics * Laminations and currents in higher dimensional holomorphic dynamics * Analytic differential equations * Geodesic laminations and foliations on surfaces and in 3-manifolds * Foliations, symplectic and contact structures ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Tentative list of speakers: Bedford, Bonahon, Brunella, Camacho, Connes, Eliashberg, Fenley, Fornaess, Gabai, Gomez-Mont, Ghys, Hatcher, Hubbard, Ilyashenko, Kaimanovich, Ledrappier, Mosher, Sad, Sibony, Smillie, Sullivan, Verjovsky. We hope to have some funds available to support a number of participants, particularly graduate students and postdocs. You can apply for support via e-mail, or on the web at http://www.math.sunysb.edu/solenoid. Applications of graduate students and postdocs should be backed by one recommendation letter. If you are interested in attending this meeting, please send a message to one of the addresses below. We look forward to seeing you this spring in Stony Brook. The organizing committee: Eliashberg, Ghys, Lyubich, Milnor, Minsky, Sullivan, Phillips, Verjovsky. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Contact Addresses: Laminations Conference E-mail: solenoid@math.sunysb.edu} Institute for Math.
