Talks will start 9:30 AM Sunday and end at Noon Wednesday - there will be talks Wednesday morning(!)). WHERE: University of Missouri, Columbia GENERAL INFORMATION: As usual, this is much more a workshop than a traditional conference. All talks are contributed and there are no formally invited speakers. Everyone is encouraged to speak; we particularly welcome talks contributed by women and graduate students. The workshop atmosphere is friendly and neither competitive nor confrontational. This year, we will have substantial funding from the Missouri Research Board, the MU Department of Mathematics, and the MU College of Arts & Sciences. As a consequence, this year there will be no registration fee, and coffee mugs will be provided. There will also be a workshop non-banquet (i.e. a dinner at a nice local restaurant, as opposed to a catered rubber chicken banquet), and the MU Math Dept. will pay for the dinner of all workshop participants. TRAVEL SUPPORT: We have a large amount of travel support available. In order to conserve funds, we ask those who have NSF/NSA grants with travel support, who have advisors with such grants, or who have support from their departments/colleges (or IBM) to spend those funds first, before requesting funds from this workshop. If we have funds remaining after funding those who need it, we will apply them to reduce the hotel bills of the externally funded participants. If, on the other hand, you don't have access to outside support, please let us know (see form below), and we'll do our best to cover the cost of your attendence. Graduate students and junior faculty are particularly encouraged to apply for funding. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW: If you think you will be attending this gathering, you should complete the form below and e-mail it to Daniel Lieman (lieman@math.missouri.edu). TRAVEL INFO: Columbia is just about halfway between St. Louis and Kansas City. Because of the locations of the airports in these two cities, it takes about 1:40 to drive to St. Louis Airport, and 2:15 to drive to Kansas City Airport. There is a shuttle service that runs from either airport to any destination in Columbia. Columbia is also served by a regional airport, which has service from TWA. The cost of flying into Columbia is usually about the same as flying to St. Louis and then taking the shuttle. At Columbia Regional Airport, car rental service is provided by Hertz (573-449-0077) and National (573-443-4611). The Airport is about 15 minutes from downtown Columbia. Feel free to fly into any/all of these airports - let us know if we should arrange shuttle service for you (one can rent a car in Columbia as well). Because of the location of the Ramada Inn (downtown), you will not need a car in Columbia. HOTEL INFO: The Ramada Inn Downtown is one of two hotels within walking distance of campus (about 1/2 mile from the math dept) and the only hotel within walking distance of both the campus and lots of cool downtown places to hear music or drink or eat or drink or get a coffee or drink. We have a block of rooms reserved at the Ramada Inn for arrival Feb 28 and departure March 4, at a somewhat reduced room rate. If you'd like to stay at the Ramada, you need to let me know - even if you're paying for the room yourself. SPREAD THE WORD: If you know of other people who should be included in these mailings, please send me their e-mail or paper addresses (lieman@math.missouri.edu). ------------------cut here for form---------------------------------- 12TH ANNUAL WORKSHOP ON AUTOMORPHIC FORMS AND RELATED TOPICS (Please mail completed form to lieman@math.missouri.edu) Name: E-mail of paper address: Please select one of: YES, I would like to speak.
