Presidential Early Career Awards
Brian Caffo (BS Math 1995 UF, PhD Stat 2001 UF) Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins has been awarded a Presidential Early Career Award, the highest honor bestowed by the United States government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.
Citrus Greening Project
Citrus Greening Disease is spreading rapidly through Florida's orange groves. A team of faculty - Mathematics Professors Burt Singer, Jed Keesling, and Sergei Pilyugin with Mathematics graduate students JoAnn Lee, Karly Jacobsen, and Jill Stupiansky together with Glenn Morris and Ariena van Bruggen of the Emerging Pathogens Institute and Susan Halbert from the Florida Department of Agriculture are engaged in modeling the spread of the Citrus Greening.
CLAS Crow Term Professor
Scott McCullough has been recognized by the College with the award of a Colonel Allan R. and Margaret G. Crow Term Professorship.

Professors Peter Sin and Yuli Rudyak have received Collaboration Grants for Mathematicians from the Simons Foundation.
Eleanor Ewing Ehrlich Award
Karly Jacobsen is the first Eleanor Ewing Ehrlich Award winner. This new award is funded by Professor Emeritus Paul Ehrlich and his wife Norma in the memory of Professor Ehrlich's mother who was an accomplished scientist.
Chat Ho Award
Thanos Gentimis, PhD 2011, and Ferit Toska are the co-winners of the annual Chat Yi Ho Award.
Keene Dissertation Award
Josh Ducey, PhD 2011, was awarded the the Keene Dissertation Award for Spring 2011.
MAA Outstanding Paper Award
McNair Scholar Lie Jiang recieved the Outstanding Paper Award of the MAA for her paper on partition theory with Professor Frank Garvan delivered at the MAA MathFest in Kentucky in July.
STEM Florida Award
The UFTeach Program has been recognized by STEM Florida with an award for Excellence and Accountability in Targeted STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Teacher Recruitment and Retention Efforts.
