The Robert Long Essay Scholarships are awarded in the spring each year, for best undergraduate and graduate student essays in the history and/or philosophy of mathematics. These were areas of special interest to Robert Long, who was a member of the mathematics faculty.

The application includes a 15-25 page essay. Selection is determined by the Robert Long Scholarship Committee.
