The William Lowell Putnam Competition

The Department of Mathematics encourages talented undergraduates to participate in the annual Putnam Competition. This math contest dates back to 1938, and all regularly enrolled undergraduates from the United States and Canada are eligible to participate. Each year it is given, usually on the first Saturday in December. The department sets up a Putnam email list to communicate with interested students, and usually has a team participating in the team competition in addition to the competition for individuals.
