In a major effort to stimulate research and education, the University of Florida
Mathematics Department has set a program of conducting special years in
various areas.
In 2005, Krishna Alladi was instrumental in establishing the SASTRA Ramanujan Prize.
This is an annual international prize of $10,000 to be given to
young mathematics for outstanding contributions to areas of mathematics
influenced by Ramanujan.
