If you are thinking about becoming a teacher, you may be interested in the courses below. Of these, only MAE 3811 and MTG 3214 are geared specifically to future teachers. The other courses may be of interest to you as a future teacher, and will solidify your foundation for teaching high-school math, but they are not designed for prospective teachers; they serve math majors and minors with a variety of interests and career plans. However, all prospective high-school teachers are still urged to take either MAS 3300 or MHF 3202 (but not both), and either MTG 3212 or MTG 3214 (but not both).

  • Course for prospective elementary-school teachers
    • MAE 3811 Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers 2
(This course is open only to students with a major in the College of Education. It is a required course for Elementary Education majors.) The prerequisite, a passing score on the MAE 3811 Prerequisite Exam, is not currently in force but may be reinstated in the future.

  • Courses of interest to prospective middle- and high-school teachers
