General Education
Gordon Rule

The General Education Mathematics/Gordon Rule Computation requirement calls for six credits in the mathematical sciences passed with a grade of C or better, with at least three credits taken in from the Department of Mathematics. See the Undergraduate Catalog of your entering year for specifics.

If your major does not recommend or require specific course(s), then the Department of Mathematics recommends that you consider one or both of the following survey courses, either of which may be taken without the other:

• MGF 1106 Mathematics for Liberal Arts Majors I, and
• MGF 1107 Mathematics for Liberal Arts Majors II.

The following classes also satisfy the General Education/Gordon Rule requirements and may be required by your major:

• Precalculus Algebra, Precalculus
• Calculus
