Catalog Description:
Introduction to nonlinear dynamical systems and chaos. One-dimensional systems, bifurcation theory, symbolic dynamics, Shankovsky's theorem, Schwarzian derivative, Bernoulli shifts and subshifts of finite type, and kneading theory. If time permits, toral automorphisms, Henon map and complex dynamics.
