Prerequisites:

grade of C or better in MAC 2312, MAC 2512 or MAC 3473.

Catalog Description:

An axiomatic treatment of topics in Euclidean, non-Euclidean, projective geometry, and (time permitting) fractal geometry. This course is particularly useful for prospective secondary-school mathematics teachers. (M) (MR)

Content:

MTG 3212 offers a careful examination of geometric concepts that are covered in a high school geometry course from an advanced point of view. Additional topics are covered at the discretion of the instructor.

Typical students in the class are secondary education majors and mathematics majors. Many instructors encourage students to present proofs in class.
