Prerequisites:

strong background in precalculus.

Catalog Description:

The topics covered in the MAC 34723473/3474 sequence closely parallel those covered in MAC 2311/2312/2313 but are treated in greater depth.
(Note: credit will be given for at most one of MAC 2311 and MAC 3472.) (M) (MR)

Textbook:

Calculus Early Transcendentals by Stewart, 5th edition

Content:

MAC 3472 covers the material usually covered in MAC 2311. In addition there are special features to the course that make it an enriched honors course. The topics covered include limits, continuity, derivatives and rates of change, inverse functions, the Mean Value Theorem, and the basic theory of the integral.

Students completing the course should be able to take either MAC 2312 or MAC 3473 as a sequel.

Typical students are highly motivated and highly capable in mathematics.
